Marketing your Holiday Cottage: The Way You Make Me Feel

If you have your own holiday cottage (or two, or three), then you will be aiming to have as many weeks fully booked as you possibly can. The key is how you make people feel.

Watch my short video below to see why the way people feel is important to a guest’s decision when deciding where to stay for their holiday.

Note: this marketing tactic can also apply to most (if not all) services and products. Let me know in the comments what you sell, and I’ll respond with ideas of how you can use this technique in your business.

Hi everyone,

Today a tip specifically for those of you who are trying to market a holiday cottage or holiday cottages.

One of the best ways to speak to your audience – whether that’s through social media or through traditional marketing or whatever other marketing that you’re using – is to make them feel what they would feel when they’re staying at your holiday cottage.

So, do have a log burner? Can you help them picture how it would be to be sitting in front of the log burner with their loved ones or reading a book, relaxing after a day out and about?

Have you got lovely views? How would they feel about sipping a glass of wine on a balcony or waking up to a wonderful view

Or is it just the sound of peace and quiet that they would
hear – or not hear in this case – when they stayed with you?

Or, if you’re in the centre of a bustling town, how exciting would it be just to be a short walk away from all the pubs, from the shops, all the activity, all the hustle and bustle? So it’s really important with your marketing nowadays to make people feel how they would like to feel when they’re staying with you. And that will really speak to them and make them more interested in coming to stay at your holiday cottage.

I hope that helps. Try it out and let me know how things go and, if you have any questions or if you would like any more information or have ideas of what you’d like to hear from me, give me a comment and let me know. I’d love to hear from you!
