Work Showcase: Blogs for the Tourism & Hospitality Industry

One of my specialities as a virtual assistant is the tourism industry. A client of mine, Sally’s Cottages, is one of the leading holiday cottage letting agencies in the Lake District – itself one of the top UK tourist destinations.

My work with Sally’s Cottages involves coordinating and writing regular blogs for the website. These blogs range in subject matter and include organisational news, things to do in the area, and promotion of the company’s holiday cottages.

My role includes writing copy, commissioning others to write additional blogs, updating outdated copy, proofreading, sourcing imagery, and uploading to the website.

Sally’s Cottages have a number of aims in producing these blogs:

  1. To provide useful and interesting information to customers and potential customers
  2. SEO optimisation
  3. Service promotion

When writing these blogs, I ensure that the tone matches Sally’s Cottages brand voice; users are encouraged to remain on the site through interesting content and links to other pages; relevant SEO terms are used; spelling and grammar is of a high standard; and users are encouraged to book cottages through regular calls to action throughout the copy.

Through research, good writing, attention to detail, and knowledge of the industry, I am able to provide Sally’s Cottages with quality blogs that see a regular, high level of traffic.

Sally Fielding, founder of Sally’s Cottages, recently left me this lovely feedback on my LinkedIn page.

For efficiency, attention to detail and the ability to stay calm when everything changes last minute, Kimberley is supreme. Her immediate response is always ‘yes’, no matter what you throw at her. She’ll learn that new program, get the project finished on time, and do it to an extremely high standard. Or she’ll embrace that banal job that just needs chugging through and she’ll do it in double quick time. Put simply, Kimberley is phenomenal.
